Brian Parker may very well be the luckiest bingo player in the UK. He has had almost 90 bingo wins this year alone – all of which were won playing bingo at his local Mecca Bingo club in Folly Hall, Huddersfield.

The grandfather of three has won just over £10,000 this year. In 2007 he had 42 bingo wins and in 2006 he snagged 37 bingo wins.

73 year old Parker said, “I’ve always been lucky. I think I must have been born with a brass spoon in my mouth. There’s no secret, when I get in the queue people are always telling me I’m going to win. I tell them: ‘You can stand in my place in the queue if you want,’ but they say it won’t make any difference, I’ll still win. A friend of mine said he could see a halo round my head. One night when I was playing, I shouted out that I’d won and another guy called out: ‘Get him out!’ People come up and rub me, hoping that some of the luck will rub off on them.”

Steven Jones, who is the assistant Manager at Mecca Bingo said, “There are a lot of people who play more often, but no-one who’s as lucky as Brian. I’ve done this job for six years, in Dewsbury before I came to Huddersfield and I’ve never come across anyone who wins more. Everybody knows him and it’s great to have someone who wins as much as him.”
