Dragon Goes Head To Head With Casino And Wins
A delightfully named factory worker from Adelaide, Australia has been cleared of all suspicion after Sky City Casino dropped allegations that he won $22,000 (AUS) on a gaming machine by illegitimate means.
Days after his win playing the Sega Royal Ascot horse racing machine, Jens Peter Dragon, was called on cheating by the casino. Dragon could have potentially faced 10 years in jail if found guilty of taking advantage of a machine malfunction.
"They tried to put me in jail for winning something," he told The Advertiser, an Adelaide newspaper, adding colorfully that, "It seemed as if Lady Luck embraced me for a two-day affair, but she turned out to be a harlot who'd been around the block a few times."
Prosecutors have now dropped allegations that the money was won because of a machine malfunction but now Dragon is considering a lawsuit against the casino. He even had to take a loan out to cover legal expenses.
"The whole experience was shocking," he said. "I could never have enjoyed the money with (the case) hanging over my head. Now it is gone, and I had to take out loans to cover everything. I'll think about whether I'll pursue a claim for civil damages, losses and compensation for these unjust allegations, which have now been shown to be groundless."
