David Saab Wins APT Manila

David Saab Wins First APT Event

 

The Asian Poker Tour (APT) was well attended despite the fact the World Series of Poker (WSOP) was taking place at the same time. Australian David Saab is took home the title of the first winner of the Asian Poker Tour after besting 315 other participants and winning $280,000 in Manila’s event.

Saab was joined by other big names like Brad Daugherty (WSOP Main Event winner in 1992), Layne Flack, Evelyn Ng, Daniel Schreiber and Huck Seed.
It didn’t take long for him to secure a position as one of the tournament leaders. By the end of day one the Korean-born Australian Saab was in sixth place of the chip count.

On Day 2 of the event, he secured the position of chip leader and did not relinquish it.
Second place went to South Korea’s Chris Roh who walked away with $150,000.

The next of the APT’s four stops will run from August 27th to 31st in Macau’s StarWorld Hotel and Casino. Due to the great amount interest, APT organisers decided to increase the guaranteed prize pool of the APT Macau to $1.5 million.

The final legs of the tour will be held n Seoul and the Philippines.
