Swings happen; control them.

Hello!

Today’s post is going to be about DownSwing. This is the number one problem for poker players and also for semi pro/pro players. What actually is “DownSwing”? DownSwing is the phase where a player is losing, even though at a distance (distance is the time-line, during which many hands are played, for example 500,000 hands) they have had more success than other players. During a “DownSwing-day” the player loses more hands than a normal day, and that is quite ok, one needs to take this as a part of the game and one cannot forget that it can happen to ANY player at some point. But especially during a DownSwing one makes the most mistakes and often loses either the entire bankroll or a huge amount. With a DownSwing one plays the majority of the time with Tilt. Tilt is the change in the style of play on the grounds of loss, what mostly leads to greater loss. What should one do? I see two possibilities that I personally refer to.

1)      One can lower their limits for 1-2 weeks or
2)      Simply do not play for a few days, then you can take a small Poker holiday, so to speak.

By no means do I wish you a DownSwing, but in the case that it does occur, keep your cool.

See you at the TOP!
Best Regards, Puma_RS..
