WSOP Changes Dates For Two Events
Players who are planning to be a part of this year’s World Series of Poker should take note: There have been two important date changes to the schedule. The press release issued by Harrah’s Entertainment indicates that the alterations have been made in order to accommodate comprehensive coverage by ESPN for the $50,000 buy-in H.O.R.S.E. World Championship.
The $50,000 buy-in World Championship HORSE (event #45) is now scheduled to begin at 5pm on Wednesday, June 25, 2008. The original start time was at noon on Sunday, June 22, 2008.
Also note that the $2,500 buy-in 2-7 Triple Draw Lowball (event #40) contest originally scheduled to begin at 5pm on June 25, 2008 will now begin at noon on June 22, 2008.
Since it’s beginnings in 1970, the WSOP has seen a steady increase in attention. Current hype indicates the 2008 WSOP will enjoy a bigger audience and wider player-base than ever before thanks to the Texas Hold’em craze of the last decade and increased media coverage on both television and on the Internet.
