Made Hand

In poker, a made hand is one that does not need improvement to win, in contrast to a drawing hand.

“All I ask for is a couple Made Hands an hour.”

Main Pot

The center pot.

“The Main Pot is the only pot I'm interested in.”

Make

To shuffle a deck of cards.

Make the deck.”

Maniac

An aggressive player who plays a large number of hands.

“Steve is a Maniac tonight.”

Marked Cards

Cards that have been marked with the intent of cheating.

“Anyone caught using Marked Cards will be removed from the game.”

Marker

A contract, usually an IOU, between a casino and a player that represents money owed by a player.

“The Marker says $2,000, so that's what you owe.”

Meet

To call.

“I'll Meet your bet, and raise you $50.”

Micro-Limit

Games with extremely small limits – they likely would not be dealt in a card room. They exist mostly in online card rooms.

Miscall

An incorrect declaration of the ranking of a hand.

A Miscall can throw a kink into any poker game.

Misdeal

To make a mistake while dealing. In turn, a new hand must be dealt.

“I had to give up my pocket aces due to a Misdeal .”

Missed Blind

A necessary bet that is not posted when it is a player's turn to do so.

“Players can be penalized for a Missed Blind .”

Monster

A very high hand. This is also referred to as a Monster hand.

“I was feeling confident with my Monster hand.”

Muck

To throw away a hand.

“I decided to Muck my hand because there were so many players competing for the pot.”
